Founders Circle Intelligence Drop — “Riding the AC/DC Wave”

FieldSpan graphic illustrating a hybrid AC/DC grid connecting DC infrastructure, utility transmission, energy storage, wildfire terrain and resilient communities.

1. The Wave Has Arrived

ABB’s DC architecture announcement is not a product update — it’s a structural signal. It confirms the hybrid grid future we’ve been anticipating: DC for high‑density loads, AC for community delivery, hybrid nodes for resilience.

2. The IOU/Muni Split Is Now Technically Validated

Our early proposal:

  • IOUs → DC infrastructure + large loads

  • Munis/Co‑ops → AC distribution + community loads

ABB’s direction aligns perfectly with this model.

3. Why This Matters for Wildfire Terrain

DC architecture:

  • reduces conversion heat

  • reduces failure points

  • pairs naturally with storage

  • supports modular microgrids

  • behaves predictably under stress

This is directly aligned with the AC/DC wildfire doctrine.

4. Strategic Advantage for FieldSpan

We didn’t chase this wave — we saw it forming years ago.

Now we can:

  • lead the narrative

  • shape homeowner clarity

  • support utility modernization

  • align with global engineering trends

  • strengthen FieldSpan’s position in resilience tech

5. The Hybrid Grid Is the New Reality

The future grid will not be AC‑only or DC‑only. It will be hybrid, terrain‑aware, and load‑specific.

We’re not reacting to the wave. We’re riding it.
