AC/DC Isn’t Complicated — We’re All AC/DC Power Plants

Quick break for some calories, and it hit me: I’m basically an AC/DC power plant.

FieldSpan educational graphic using human energy and metabolism as an analogy for AC and DC power, alongside solar, batteries, data centers, EVs and the electric grid.

I run on a hybrid mix of inputs:

Veggies → micronutrient regulation

Meat & protein → baseload generation

Sweets → peak‑load bursts

Exercise → frequency stabilization

Sunshine → voltage boost

Rest → storage and recovery

That’s AC/DC in human form.

AC is movement, sunlight, stress cycles — the variable energy we take in. DC is food, hydration, rest — the stored energy we convert and use. And our mitochondria are the inverters doing the real work.

If you understand this, you understand the future grid.

AI, data centers, EVs, solar, batteries — they’re all DC. The grid is AC. The future is hybrid.

AC/DC isn’t complicated. It’s a recipe. It’s metabolism. It’s energy. It’s us.

Character is the only color that matters. — Charles
